Kelly Olynyk is set to become a restricted free agent this summer, and he understands the Celtics have tough decisions in front of them if they hope to sign a top free agent, such as Gordon Hayward.

Regardless of what his future may hold, Olynyk let it be known it doesn’t worry him.

“It is what it is,” Olynyk told Jay King of MassLive.com. “I love that we have so much that can go on. [Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge has] put our team in a position where that’s the case, and that’s why we were No. 1 in the East, that’s why we’re still trending upwards. And hopefully we can do something this summer that keeps us trending that way.”

The forward averaged 9.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.0 assists throughout his 2016-17 campaign. In the 2017 playoffs, he put up similar numbers, averaging 9.2 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.9 assists.

According to reports, Olynyk’s market value will be about $10-12 million per season. Regardless of the decision the Celtics ultimately make, Olynyk is simply focused on what he can control.

“Just control what you can control,” Olynyk said. “Whatever happens, happens. However the cookie crumbles, it does. But you just control what you can control. You can’t worry about things that aren’t in your control.”
